Indian Railway provide a duplicate train ticket on a subject when your ticket is lost/ misplaced/torn but your ticket has to be confirmed or RAC. Waiting list train tickets will not be acceptable for duplicate print of train ticket. Once the duplicate ticket issued, you will not be able to get a refund on the cancellation of your original ticket. No duplicate ticket will be issued if your ticket is still waiting list ( No confirmed ).

If you lost your ticket train ticket whether it is a counter ticket or i-ticket or e-ticket it can be issued but first, you need to report this to the reservation office to avoid any fraudulent refund of your ticket. Need to follow these simple steps and get your duplicate ticket in your hand.
Counter Ticket- If your lost ticket is PRS ( passenger Reservation System) means Counter ticket then you need to reach at nearest computerised reservation counter and meet chief reservation supervisor and explain the situation to him. Here you will be asked to show your your ID proof before then he will issue a duplicate ticket with PNR number.
i-Ticket- If your lost ticket is i-Ticket then the proceeder is same as PRS ( Counter ticket ).
e-Ticket- if you lost your ticket and its e-ticket booked from IRCTC website or Irctc rail connect app then you need not to be worry about it. You can take printouts after login into your account. As per the policy of Indian Railway, you need not carry a hard copy of the ticket you can show message received from the railway will be considered a valid ticket.
Forget your PNR ? How to get duplicate counter Ticket
Yes, it’s possible even if you don’t have a PNR number you can get a duplicate train ticket. Simply you need to meet with the station master and provide all the details of the journey like the date of the journey, boarding and destination station, train number, and your valid Id proof. You will get your duplicate train ticket after making 25% of your original ticket fare.
Can I get Refund on duplicate counter ticket
If the lost ticket is located and present with duplicate ticket befor departure of train. you will be entitled to get a refund paid for a duplicate ticket. Still, you will be charged 5% of your ticket fare on subject to 20 rs whichever is minimum.
If you have made excess payment on train while getting a duplicate train ticket on account of lost ticket, misplaced, torn. You can approach to chief commercial manager / ticket issuing zonal to grant refund that was already paid on the train. If you are planning to cancel your ticket you will be eligible after deducting cancellation charges as per the cancellation rules.
What is the charges to get a duplicate ticket
Indian Railway asking for clerk charges while issuing the duplicate ticket that is nominal. Charges are divided into two phase that are following Charges are given below.
1- Charges Before chart preparation- Duplicate tickets can be issued on a very normal charge only thing is that you need to report the ticket lost before chart preparation. Indian railways collect only clerk charges rupees 20 /- per passenger.
2- After chart preparation- If a duplicate ticket is issued after the chart preparation then 50% of the fare will be collected by indian railway.
